December 12th, 2007On December 8th, our composition department held its semiannual composers’ forum concert. Two of my pieces were performed–an a capella setting of the Ave Maria text and “Nightflower,” a short piano and cello duet. You can listen to both pieces in the music section!

Both Ave Maria’s are exquisite. The chord progressions are very interesting, and haunting at times. This is definitely not what the average person expects to hear when they think they are going to hear Ave Maria. I can see the growth from your earlier pieces and can’t wait to hear more.
Nightflower is still my favorite, but I’m sure you’ll blow that one out of the water some day!!
